MAKING A DIFFERENCE
There are countless ways for you to volunteer at the Palos Verdes Library District’s three branches. We always welcome anyone who would like to make a difference.

Gene Roeder (l) and Pat Foltz chair the Malaga Cove Book sales. Gene is also the VP of Operations and Book Sales on the PFL Board. Pat is the Chair of the Malaga Cove Advisory Committee as well.
The Friends always need help sorting and marking books for the book sales, cashiering at the book sales, researching and packing books for the Internet book sales, boxing books for The Books for Troops program, and there are many opportunities for working behind the scenes in the sale of the books, our largest source of revenue.

Ed Long (l), PFL's VP of Major Gifts/Endowment, Library Director Kathy Gould, and Past PFL President Ted Paulson show the award given in 2009 by the Palos Verdes Chamber of Commerce for best Non-Profit of the Year.
Volunteers are also always needed in the Peninsula Friends of the Library Shop, the Annex, helping out at special events, computer entry, running errands, etc. If you have specialized talents you’d like to put to use on behalf of your library, like website design, promotion, publicity and marketing, photography, graphics and illustration, writing, and record keeping, we promise to set you up so you can make a difference.

John Stolpestad chairs the Peninsula Center Library book sales and has literally logged thousands of hours of time over the years.
If you would like to see descriptions of the Library District volunteer opportunities or would like to apply online to donate your time, visit the Volunteer Opportunities page. The Volunteer Services Coordinator is at (310) 377-9584, ext. 276.

Phil and Marilouise Huff are another couple who logs countless hours. For many years Marilouise, who is the Newsletter Editor on the PFL Board, has kept us informed of PFL activities.
