AMAZING BOOK SALES EVERY MONTH
Each year Peninsula Friends of the Library receives thousands of donated books, audio tapes, CDs, DVDs and records which we in turn resell to the public at our three libraries. The Friends host monthly weekend book sales at the main Peninsula Center Library and the Malaga Cove Branch. The Miraleste branch has used books available for sale inside the library. Thousands of books are also sold on the Internet. All profits benefit the Library and some books are also donated to schools and non-profit organizations like Books for Troops. Notable books are offered to the special collections of the Library.

BOOKS FOR TROOPS
Friends VP of Operations and Book Sale Chair, as well as Books for Troops Chair, Gene Roeder, stands next to the Book for Troops display.
The Peninsula Friends of the Library has been sending books, videos, magazines and CDs to troops all over the world. Since 2004 we have sent over 52,000 items weighing more than 12 tons. They go to military hospitals, USO facilities, Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force units in 43 Countries.
A donation of $15 will send 40 books to our troops. Donations can be made to Peninsula Friends of the Library, Books for Troops and sent to Malaga Cove Library, 2400 Via Campesina, Palos Verdes Estates, CA 90274.
Donations of the various media can be dropped off at any of the three library locations and should be marked Books for Troops to distinguish them from our other donations. The most requested genres are: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mysteries, Westerns and Adventure.
For additional information, call 310-377-9584, ext. 553 or e-mail at friends@pvld.org.
